Me too Schneider. The last band I was in was mostly rebel country/southern rock. We played a full set worth Johnny Cash, some Charlie Daniels, etc. I dont think we got around to Hank but I learned that song before we split up.

Well I love Johnny Cash and some classic country. I don't like newer country music, although it's not really country, just basically pop music with a twangy twist. I grew up around people who listened to country. It's not my favorite but I like some of it.

A lot of people say they don't like Country - I find it hard to dismiss a genre as broad as that, myself.

I know what you mean, I'm sure that I could find at least a few bands/songs that I like in every genre.

I never liked country all that much, but there were a few songs I liked, don't know what, might have been old sounding stuff. The first thing I ever thought about Kurt Cobain's voice was that he could sing country because he had a twang to his voice.

The Meat Puppets who contributed to three tracks on the MTv Unplugged album are a CowPunk band, essentially Punk meets Country. Oh Me, Lake of Fire, and Platue really have a Dixie feel.

The Meat Puppets were in St. Louis last Halloween but I didn't end up going. I hate myself for that! Instead I just went out to a lame bar and parade..The Meat Puppets would have been 100% better and it was only like $12 a ticket.

Yeah they were one of the many 90s bands that got back together as of the mid 2000s.
