Singing on key is so important to making music. Someone with a great voice may sound terrible when they are off key to the musical accompaniment. Now we all have our own unique voices and we all have our strong points and limitations. Sometimes its difficult or even impossible to sing a song in a key that is on the edge of, or out of your range. There are many options avaliable to remedy this kind of issue; rescoring in a relative key, tuning down, capo etc. Here you can discuss methods you have used, or get advice on how to bring a piece to a more comfortable singing level for you.

I don't know if you all did notice, but in my covers I have State of Love and Trust tuned down 2 steps. So essentialy the strings tuning would be D-G-C-F-A-D. Same goes for About a Girl, though for that song it's only half a step since the original is already tuned down to Eflat.
It worked perfectly for me. Though you'll need a pretty thick string gauge, else the strings will be very loose and floppy haha

Im pretty sure D-G-C-F-A-D would be 1 step down but I did notice it sounded somewhat lower.
Most Nirvana songs are tuned half a step down though which is Eb.
I usually tune half a step down myself, it rolls out better for me.

I don't have any trouble with singing in key - none of the songs I sing seem to be too high or too low for me. I've got a pretty decent range if I may say so myself. ;D
