So I tried recording something with my laptop microphone and it sucks. I have had a few suggestions about what sort of mic I should get but thought I would ask for a few more before buying anything. I don't need anything fancy and I don't want to spend a lot of money. Any ideas?

Cant say too much as Im still using my laptop mic aswell I wonder why mine is so crappy. I did this recording for the "accent challenge" on the grunge forum and even after Jaryd cleaned it up for me it still had this weird sound. soundcloud.com/zombiebrains/accent-challengeIf you listen to it, ignore my lame voice haha!

DUDE, I have no idea why mine sucks so bad, but my laptop microphone works for three seconds then the rest sounds like that bad tin can totally can't hear it the worst quality type stuff.

I think laptop mics just suck overall. I need to start pricing different ones.

i use the microphone that came with my webcam.. cost me 30 euros though (it's actually 10) but.. if i went up to the city.. t woulda cost me 30 euros to get there and back and buy the damned thing..so... I also have a studio microphone (i say *i*.. it's my step-dads..but..he won't let me use it) which i use in the summer when he's not around hehehe Cost him over 500 pounds
